• Autofill database properties: auto-classify, tag, summarize, generate descriptions

• Custom Agents billed in Notion credits: $10 per 1,000 credits per month, no rollover, since 4 May 2026

Limits and catches

• Full AI is effectively $20 per user per month: Business is the cheapest per-seat plan that actually includes the flagship AI features, and no cheaper standalone add-on exists anymore
• The Free and Plus AI is a capped trial with no published quota, not a usable ongoing free tier
• Community reports say workspace Q&A regularly fails to surface information that is plainly present: it does not know your workspace, it searches it
• Writing assistant output usually needs heavy editing. One user reports rewriting about 60% of the generated text
• Database autofill works inconsistently, but saves time when it lands
• Custom Agents consume paid credits; the standard writing tools and the included Agent do not
• The pricing page served EUR from a European connection on 31 July 2026 (Plus EUR 9.50, Business EUR 19.50) behind a currency switcher. The $10 and $20 figures are the USD values

What does Notion AI cost?

Free and Plus users no longer get the old paid add-on. They get a limited complimentary trial of the core Notion Agent (chat, generate docs, autofill databases, translate), with no published monthly quota: a finite trial, not ongoing free access. The standalone AI add-on ($10 per month, $8 annual) was retired for new Free and Plus customers in May 2025, and existing subscribers are grandfathered but cannot re-subscribe once they cancel.
