• Builds full web apps from plain language: front-end UI, backend logic, database through Supabase, authentication and Stripe payments in one pass
• Realtime collaboration for up to 20 people in the same project
• GitHub integration for code export from the paid tiers upward
• Two working modes: Build (variable credit cost by task complexity, where the docs cite 0.50 credit for 'Make the button gray' up to 2.00 for 'Build a landing page with images') and Plan mode at a flat 1 credit per message
• Credit cost tracks the complexity of the request, not the size of the project: 'Cost depends on the complexity of the request and the work completed' (docs.lovable.dev), though requests that require more codebase exploration do cost more

Limits and catches

• Cannot import an existing project. It only builds new apps from scratch
• No native iOS or Android app. It produces responsive web apps you export and wrap yourself for the mobile stores
• The most common complaint is unpredictable credit burn. Failed attempts and bug fixes cost credits too, and one user reported 30 credits on a single bug fix
• Several reviewers describe growing instability as a project gets bigger: fix one thing, break another
• Support draws repeated criticism for answering with automated bot replies when something goes wrong

What does Lovable cost?

Yes. $0 per month with 5 daily build credits (30 per month maximum), plus 20 monthly Cloud credits and $1 of AI credit for deployed apps. Enough to test the AI and build a small demo, but by several reviewer accounts not enough to ship a real product.
