What Gemini actually is

  • Gemini 3.1 Pro on the Pro tier. Ultra raises the limits (Google cites 4x to 20x versus Pro, depending on sublayer) and adds storage plus early access to new features
  • Strong on live research and very long documents, which is where aggregator consensus puts it for long-context retrieval
  • Deep integration with the rest of Google Workspace: Docs, Gmail, Drive

Limits and catches

  • Google publishes no counted usage caps. The Ultra tier is sold as a multiplier over Pro, not as an allowance you can plan against
  • The exact Ultra tier structure (one sublayer or two) differed between sources when we verified it
  • The pricing page serves local currency rather than a USD table, so the dollar figures here come from cross-checked search results, not one to one from the official page
